Funding

Every month, our Donor Advised Funds make recommendations to support organizations. Since July 2017, these DAFs have distributed more than $2,500,000 to over 200 nonprofits.

As a community foundation, the American Muslim Community Foundation recognizes the important work that nonprofits do for the betterment of society in general, and the American Muslim community in particular.  Our mission is to strengthen the link between donors and nonprofits. We work with donors to encourage strategic charitable-giving, with the hope to strengthen and diversify funding support for community organizations.

Currently, the American Muslim Community Foundation works with nonprofit organizations in four main ways:

  1. Distributions from donor advised funds
  2. Distributions from Giving Circles
  3. Grants from endowments
  4. Hosted endowments.

In the long term, our goal is to provide other forms of non-financial support to nonprofit organizations, such as best practices training, advice to start-up organizations, and cultivating coalition building and collaborations among nonprofits.
